Planning on attending GDC 2010?

I remember someone saying that they don't take volunteers from WI. Maybe that assumption isn't so far fetched lol.

Makes me wonder if they had enough volunteers on the first day or week that they opened it up and they just did first come first serve?

I would be shocked and very happy if got in on the waiting list, but I'm assuming that I'll have to buy my way there. If I'm still going.

Well, Matt Ciarlante managed to volunteer at the Austin GDC 2 years ago I think, so I guess they must let WI people help once in awhile at least.

But, I am guessing that Kyle's guess is the one closest to the truth, that they accept on first come first serve unless the 'application' just makes the person look totally awful.

They said "We had to turn away over 1000 applicants", so... if you signed up before the end of the year, I would think 1k people signed up between then and now, so we'd probably be at least up there on the waiting list... unless they missed a couple zeros.

So when should I expect to see the GDC Austin sign up? I am ready to sign up now.

Probably after GDC. Austin GDC is still 8-9 months away.

Ah, scratch that. I was picked off the waiting list and I AM going to GDC as a volunteer.

I got my notice that there is a Conference Associate position open and I am set to go.

Can't wait!
